Description
Edea - Drill Bit Extension Kit
The Skates U.S. Dual Drill Bit Extension System consists of:
– One (1) Double Ended Dual Drill Bit Extender, with 2 Set Screws (one end for 2.0 mm or 5/64″ and the other for 2.5 mm or 3/32″)
– Two (2) Drill Bits – 1 – 2.0 mm and 1 – 2.5 mm
and
– One (1) 2.0 mm (5/64″) Hex Allen “L” Wrench
When mounting ICE Blades to EDEA Skates, it is required to drill 5/64″ (2.0mm) Pilot holes (ALL the way Through the FootBed) for each Screw location in the Ball of the foot and 3/32″ (2.5mm) pilot holes in the heel to the void. The Drill Bit Extension provides an easy way to Drill the pilot holes in the Sole and heel of EDEA Skates. The Drill Bit Extension is ideal for mounting ICE Blades while the blade is already on the Boot with the Temp Screws. The Extension allows the drilling without fear of hitting the drill chuck on the Blade.
Blade mounting holes need to be pre-drilled.
Remove inner sole.
Drill completely through the thickness of the sole with the 2.0mm drill bit.
For the heel, use the 2.5mm drill bit drilling to a depth of about 1” or 2.5cm.
This should be done thoroughly, so the waste material from the sole can be removed.
2.0mm – 5/64” For the Front Sole
2.5mm – 3/32” For the Heel
Use the specially designed EDEA Double Helix screws for a proper and secure mount. EDEA screws will not poke through the footbed. Be sure to clean the drilled hole shavings from the inside of the sole before replacing the inner sole.
